Good point: In a future version of MacOS, disabling “system integrity protection” could disable lots of other things, for example the UI and drop you to a CLI-only version of the OS. So, I guess we are reliant on Apple’s goodwill to keep giving you a functional MacOS even if you have enabled full root access.
